IDEA 1 PICKING COLOURS-- O O O O O
Borrow the colours and combinations from
your wardrobe favourites.
Our favourite clothes are usually the ones, that flatter us. Remember the playtime trick of putting a buttercup under your chin to see if you like butter, and the way that buttercup reflected up onto your chin. This colour casting upon your skin can be flattering or unflattering.
Our skin colour tends to either be a warm tone or a cool one. Matching warm coloured clothing with warm skin tones or cool with cool is flattering. For example a red that is almost orange will look good on someone with warm skintones, and a red that is heading to purple will look good on cool skin tones.
There are some colours that are universally flattering to all skin colours, because they are neither very warm or very cold. Colours such as aubergine and true red, peach pink and teal The colours of your favourite clothing may also have been chosen because they have some kind of resonance with you, evoking a particular mood perhaps.
So if you feel good wearing these your home can also give a similar effect.You can also get ideas from the combinations of colours, and also sometimes the proportion of each colour the designer has already tested out for you.
